"No black gunk. I thing the waves were hitting a sandbar because they would break and then just pound straight down. No power to keep them rolling. I was at grandbend earlier in the day and same thing there."
"7'8" I'm new this year so still on the big board. I was out a couple times in the past month or 2 when it was really big out. Too big for my board. Good experience tho getting the shit kicked out of me by those big waves lol"
Awesome. I was surfing in Grand Bend that night, it was very nice conditions. Doesn't take much to get addicted lol. I use magicseaweed.com but its a monthly fee, like 3.50 I think. I use weathernetwork too, just to be sure. I'm hoping for waves on the long weekend, looks like maybe saturday.
we meet up whenever theres waves. its tricky to predict. If you need a suit Endless Surf in grand bend can hook you up, they have a bit of last years stock on sale still I believe. Looks like friday is gonna be good though.
Ive been surfing about 5 years or so, been skimboarding for 10. I make boards specifically for the great lakes too, basically with more volume and built for speed. You'll see if you come out with us, I can ride some pretty small waves on my longboard. Looks like tuesday has tapered off into wednesday, but still rideable on tuesday. We meet at my place just north of Grand Bend most of the time. Bayfield is one of my favourites, gotta love jumping off the pier. And the rocks aren't nearly as bad as Kincardine (a buddy smoked his shin on a rock, ended his day before it started).
