Dont know if any of you are still catchin waves in these sub-zeros.
heres a clip of some bayfield waves. still one of my favourite spots... if the winds right.
I assumed from wind direction it would be good at Ipperwash, but I haven't actually surfed there yet. Was there still lots of that black gunk floating on the shore line? I had my doubts about Port Franks, but ended up really impressed with the waves there. Some windsurfer couldn't get past the break so he just ended up watching us surf.
It was pounding Port Franks all day. They were peeling right with the odd nice left. Surfed for 5 hours. And Port Franks shallow beach made long waves that pushed real hard. NE winds were great, Ipperwash woulda been even better.
Ya once your nose goes under, the board basically becomes a catapult, and your the projectile. Its great when your nose goes under but you lean back and the nose resurfaces. I call it the submarine.
