Hey all, I'm moving back to Ontario from Australia and I have just discovered freshy surfing. Where are some good spots in southern Georgian Bay, preferably between Owen Sound and Midland.

19 October 2011(Wednesday) - Solo paddle out in the afternoon at about 4:30.  Swell had a little more East in it, but predominantly North.  Inconsistent and choppy with occasional outside bombs pushing in from the depths.  Easily 5-6' sets with a good period.  Dropped my 'burban just N. of Lakeport State Park and got dropped off at Harris Rd. - did a one mile or so float and ride.  Nice lines in the mix - one exceptional right where the lip tried to knock me off when it hit my back shoulder.  Thanks again Huron.

Anyone in the Georgian Bay area heading out tomorrow morning?

Gonna head out this afternoon at Harris Rd. if the conditions allow.  Buoys reading 4ft/5sec and 6ft/6sec.  Here are some of my go-to models and forecasts.

October 2nd, 2011 - buoy read 6ft. @ 6sec. with strong N to NE winds (about 20 mph).  Needed the 4/3 wettie, hood, mitts, and boots!  Strong winds were holding up the rights and slowing the pocket's push North = FUN!  Met a few others (Cam and Jim) on the beach and in the line-up.  Excellent (personal) celebration for my eldest son's 8th birthday!

Thanks Mother Nature, keep those winds pumping through the season.

I'll be back in PH in about 2 hours - Hope the swell holds and some locals are in the line-up at Harris Rd!

Should be there bright and early Sat. morning, hoping to be in water by 8. Hope the forecast holds and has a bit of West in it.
