A place for Great Lakes surfers to connect
Your timeline could be off by nearly 10 years, the logo says post 1992, Jay Richardson was one of a very, very long list of contract shapers for T&C over the years, worked for them between '85 and '95 and he still shapes longboards and SUP's as Surfboards Makaha. The history or provenance of the board would have to be documented for any valuation near $600.
Good luck with your sale.

I had it evaluated by www.vintagesurfboards.net a site that sells vintage surfboards to customers around the world.
i provided the history of the board for the benefit of the interested party, not to add any value to the board.
as for the year, it is written on the board next to the shapers signature and is 87.

Samuel, Town and Country boards like this go for $600. If it was full color it would go for $1000. I have sold around 15 of these. Only boards that can be proven owed by popular surfers like Kelley Slater would have addition value. Thank You, Michael

I use a number of non-commercial resources like The Surfing Heritage Museam.
My research shows the circular Town and Country laminate with "Made in Hawaii" was used after 1992 and the stylized "Town and Country" with the small yin/yang symbol was post 2000. T&C numbering was non-existent before 1992 as many of the contract shapers worked off site in their homes. But what do I know?
The golden rule of collecting is "it's worth exactly what you paid and not a penny more that you can get from the next guy" and "if it floats, it's worth $75".
Good luck with your sale.
Jeez Sam, I wanted to message you on Facebook but your settings are all private and you changed your pic. Marty said you might accept an offer.
Just picked this up.
